The run is I-75 south to Naples, then east on Alligator Alley across the Everglades before dropping onto I-595. Alligator Alley is tolled by axle rather than by vehicle, so a loaded three-axle moving truck is charged several times what a car pays, and the road does not accept Toll-By-Plate. The eastbound crossing runs roughly eighty miles with very limited services, which is why we fuel and re-check the load strapping before entering it rather than after.
